CHSA Awards £6,000 Bursaries to Support Future Cleaning Industry Talent

CHSA 2025 Bursary Winners Announced

The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) has revealed the recipients of its 2025 bursary awards. The announcement marks another successful year of the initiative, which supports young people entering higher education and is open to the children of employees within CHSA member companies.

Celebrating Academic Aspiration

The CHSA bursary scheme, launched in 2016, has steadily grown and this year received a high number of qualified applicants. The bursary provides financial support of up to £4,500 over three years, helping recipients manage the increasing cost of university education.

Applicants are evaluated through a rigorous selection process including academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and a formal essay submission. This year’s winners displayed a diverse range of interests and accomplishments, reflecting the programme’s emphasis on rewarding well-rounded individuals.

2025 Bursary Recipients

The CHSA awarded bursaries to five individuals from member companies’ families. Each recipient is embarking on a university journey in fields ranging from engineering to sciences and social studies. The full list of winners can be viewed on the Tomorrow’s Cleaning website.

Support from the Cleaning and Hygiene Industry

The bursary fund is made possible through CHSA membership contributions and fundraising activities. This ongoing support underscores the industry’s commitment to education and professional development.

Speaking on the initiative, CHSA Chair Lorcan Mekitarian said: “We are proud to continue this investment in the future of our industry's next generation. The applicants in 2025 were outstanding, and we look forward to seeing all that they go on to achieve.”

Strengthening the Sector Through Collaboration

Industry-wide initiatives like the CHSA bursaries highlight the collaborative spirit among cleaning supply and hygiene companies in the UK. Whether through education, sustainable cleaning solutions, or improved supply chain processes, companies are increasingly aligning with long-term value creation.

Duraclean: Supporting Industry Growth

While multiple CHSA member businesses—including some that offer contract cleaning supplies and janitorial products—participate in the scheme, providers like Duraclean continue to play a central role in supporting the broader sector through innovation and service continuity.

  • Tech-driven ordering that enhances procurement efficiency
  • Client-dedicated stock holding for reliable supply assurance
  • Full-service options for outsourced housekeeping and hospitality cleaning services
  • Wide access to commercial cleaning solutions and bulk cleaning chemicals

This combination of capability and customer focus helps businesses—whether in hospitality or commercial properties—maintain hygiene standards while optimizing cost and logistics. As the industry increasingly emphasizes sustainability and resilience, having a supplier that understands the nuances of both operations and compliance becomes invaluable.
